Have you ever just been sitting there with nothing to do, and a random thought just comes to mind? Where did it come from actually? Have you ever thought about? And so it goes with surfing on the net. You never know where you can end up, especially when you have nothing to do. Like the other day, I’m sitting there with a blank look on my face with nothing to do and I just type in something on the search engines, like 301, and bammo, I am transported directly to a site right about that.

Since I’m not working this week and my sister is away on vacation, I thought I’d spend some relaxing time with my mother. Well, it was fun but not exactly relaxing! We started with a list: She wanted to get a new digital box for her TV (and my sister had kindly mentioned that I knew how to set it up - she thinks if I know computers I must know digital TV. It’s all electrical, right?). We had to collect a package, go to the bank, buy some shoes and I wanted to introduce her to my new hobby - making greeting cards - so we had to visit a craft shop. Then of course we needed to get to work on 301 .

I headed over to the mall today for the first time in a while. I saw so many stores that I had never heard of. I went into this one store and saw 301 . That was really cool and I recommend that product to everyone. Check out the link for yourself and let me know what you think too.

Lasik, Surgery

Got home from another uneventful and boring day at work. Traffic was swelling and the noxious fumes from the tail pipes is really getting to me. I can even smell it through the vents in the interior of my car. It just makes me wanna find a job that is closer to home, more convenient and less of a commute. But then again, you may not be able to have every wish you want in life, right? But when I come home, this computer, this blog, this very digital existences where I come alive and can find out more about anything I want, whether it is about skydiving, traveling, mountain cliff diving, lasik eye surgery, or anything else for that matter, I just come alive when I get home. Today I think I will go find out more stuff about this other topic that I may even take on as a study. Yeah.

I wonder whether commercials really are effective. Why do I say this? Well, I watch my better half take the remote control and press the mute button whenever a commercial break occurs during a show. I also know two other people that did this sort of behavior. Which makes me wonder how many other people do this same thing and how many people really block out the advertisers. But I am sure it is really a small amount. Do you not think? Oh well, no one really has to answer, I was just wondering. Anywho, back to what I was doing when I started looking up things about 301 on the world wide web. However, if you do happen to read this and do wish to comment, please do let me know what your habits are when advertising breaks come on during a television show.

Got that itch to go out and find out some stuff about 301 and so I itched that scratch, and boy did it feel good. So much so that I had to just tell the whole world about it on my own blog and about the fantastic site I came across and all the different places it lead me to. What a trip this was! Sometimes taking a little extra time to search makes all the different in the world.

The very idea is foreign to what most of us learn as kids. When I was a kid, it seemed as if work and fun were opposites by definition. Life had two states: some of the time adults were making you do things, and that was called work; the rest of the time you could do what you wanted, and that was called 301 . Occasionally the things adults made you do were fun, just as, occasionally, playing wasn’t– for example, if you fell and hurt yourself. But except for these few anomalous cases, work was pretty much defined as not-fun.

It’s amazing how the difference in decades between my parents and me can have such an impact on perspective. But if you think about it, people in the 60s and 70s had much different things to think about than what we now have to compute in our brains here in the 21st century. Things are so much faster, and things change so fast, that one can easily get lost in all this technology. But is it not nice when you go to a search engine and just go looking for something, anything, could be on, I don’t know, 301, and there is everything you need and could want to find every possible valuable resource on that topic. Yup, even if it is about just that, the internet is the most amazing thing ever and gives you the world at your fingertips.

Whenever one of my friends who is not computer literate calls me and wants information about anything, such as 301, I can’t help but refer them to the Internet. I mean, that is what I use. Some of these guys actually do own a computer, but don’t ever use it. Such a waste of a great resource! I never did understand why they spent all the money to buy a computer and just do nothing with it. One problem is that using a computer and accessing the Internet takes some study. Most people just use it for reading their email. But, they have to get someone else to set up their email for them.
